Washington state is at the forefront of cellular service safety. While there are many options for cell phone service in the Pacific Northwest, driving while talking is not one of them. No matter what kind of phone you have, if you're not hands free, then don't even think about driving.
In 2008, the state of Washington passed two laws that had to do with cellular service. The first was simply called the hands free law,' and it prohibits the use of a cell phone while driving if it is being held to your ear. As long as you're hands free, you're fine. The other law completely banned text messaging while driving.
Luckily, residents of the state of Washington have many options to go hands free with their cellular phones. There are plenty of nationwide services available across the state, including AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, and each of those services offer a multitude of hands free options. The most popular of those options is the Bluetooth headset. A Bluetooth headset connects wirelessly to your cellular phone and allows you to talk hands free and wirelessly.
Of course, there are other headsets that plug into your phone, which are less expensive, but still hands free. Your last option would be to use speakerphone, but that's still not very safe.
