Compare Rates on Satellite Television in Virginia

Providers

Average Cost
DirecTV $92
Dish Network $50

In the ongoing fight between satellite and cable television, satellite seems to be gaining a slight edge. Both services are comparable, and satellite offers slightly cheaper prices. Many Virginia residents are jumping off the cable bandwagon and taking advantage of free satellite dish installation.

Virginia, just like the rest of the country, relies heavily on two main satellite providers, DISH Network and DIRECTV. Both providers are very comparable with their service and price, which is why neither one has gained a significant edge over the other. Both packages will be less expensive than cable, but will include just as many channels as well as HD radio channels.

No matter which you choose, you'll be able to receive as much or as little programming as you want, for as little as $30 per month. Both services offer customers the option for adding high definition programming packages as well as a digital video recorder.

Virginia residents are not unlike residents of just about every state in America. They are weighing their television options, and many of them are choosing satellite over cable. There are many local cable providers, but the two satellite powerhouses offer deals that are just too hard to pass up.

There are only a few benefits to cable over satellite. Mainly that is that you won't lose your signal in heavy weather. After that Directv and Dish have either similiar or superior programming at what is usually a lower price. Of course if you have the benefit of competition between providers in your area then you can get much better deals than the rest of us.
