In the era of the cellular phone, many people still refuse to give up their landlines. It's a nice thing to have for people that do a lot of chatting or for emergencies. Landline phone companies certainly haven't faded over the years, and there are plenty in the state of Oregon to choose from.

Depending on the type of landline phone you're looking for, you may want to investigate local options over big name companies. The larger companies are going to push their bundled services on you in an effort to make you get all your telecom services from them. In Oregon, though, there are several local landline phone providers, like Beaver Creek Cooperative Telephone, that can supply you with a landline phone at a low rate.

Of course, if you're looking for other services along with your landline phone, then turning toward bigger name companies like Qwest, AT&T or SBC would be your best option. You will get a great rate on your local phone service and save money on your internet and television services by ordering them all from one company.

Getting a landline phone is an extremely viable option, especially in the state of Oregon. There are a lot of companies that offer landline phone service, and depending on need, one of them is certain to fit.

No, they are not. If your power or cable goes out, likely the phone goes out too. Traditional phones also carry thier own power and are generally very dependable.

Is it better to have traditional phone service or a cell phone for your only phone? Post by anonymous in , Post Your Reply

This is a great question and with each person the answer will change. My personal opinion is home phones are a waste of time since the only time you can answer it is when you are home. Cell phones you can use anywhere and if you have a good data plan you will not worry about minutes. The only plus I could see from a landline is using it as a number to give to people that you do not want to give your cell number out to. If this is not an issue to you then there really is no point in spending an extra $25 a month.

Can you do work-at-home customer service jobs with your cell phone or must you have home phone service? Post by in , Post Your Reply

You will need a landline phone to work as a customer service representative at home. Most companies will require you to have this in order to apply with their company but some of them will reimburse you for the charges. You can find good deals with AT&T.
