While most people are enjoying surfing the net with their home high speed internet connections, the fact remains that some people simply can't afford or don't need high speed internet. Those numbers are certainly shrinking as the internet consumes more of every type of business, but that doesn't mean everyone has to go high speed. There is another option. That option is dialup internet.
The internet was created in the west, so for people in the state of Oregon, the internet may be even more important than it is to the rest of the country. However, there are plenty of dialup options for the folks that simply can't afford high speed.
In fact, many of the options for Oregon residents are similar for those across the country, as big-name dialup providers still exist. People PC and NetZero are probably the two biggest names in the dialup game, and Oregon residents have the option of using either for their internet service. The great part about dialup is that you can get an internet connection for just $5 per month. Like high speed, dialup has become tiered, so the more expensive packages are going to cost you more money. But, the most expensive dialup packages, coming in at around $17 per month, are still significantly cheaper than the lowest high speed packages.
Residents of Oregon that can't afford or don't want high speed internet don't have to worry about finding a way to check their email if need be. For just $5 per month, they'll have all the speed they need for basic internet tasks.

Definitely!!! Broadband can be anywhere between 10 to 100 times quicker than dial up. Dial up is like the grandfather of Internet connectivity. Many advances have been made since it's inception. Broadband is also a permanent connection and much more efficient at downloading things. Broadband can also be about 10 times faster than dsl.
