When you're looking for cost-effective phone service, the key is to bundle-up! Bundling in this context means snuggling up to some super combination of services, getting great deals by increasing features and decreasing costs.
The big bundle offered in North Carolina is the 'triple-play' that combines phone service, internet and television. Just about all the telecom providers have found some way to create this combination, either offering all the services through their own company or, in the case of the satellite services, partnering with other providers for some of the options. A survey by Consumer Reports found that bundling was particularly effective in lowering the consumer cost of premium services. So before your new customer rate comes to an end, talk to your provider about an extension or a different bundle. The prices depend more on what services you are looking for. If you are just wanting a small family plan with shared minutes and no other services, then bundle plans would be cheaper. "The best" is relative. Depending on the type of phone service and the level of cable service, prices will vary. Determine your budget and then find out what services are available so that you can decide what is "best" for your household. This site offers information about providers in your area.
