Although cellular phones are gaining speed and arguable decreasing the need for land lines, many homes and businesses still prefer phone services. Unlike cell phones, land lines do not drop calls as easily, for they do not require a signal or network in order to function. For homes, land lines are desirable for families wishing to connect its multiple members under one line; plus, many phones can connect to the same line throughout the house, whereas cell phones only allow you to use one phone per phone number. And vendors and businesses that may call during the day can reach the house without interrupting an individual on his or her cell during work hours. Businesses can take advantage of land lines by connecting them together through a phone system that incorporates features like voicemail, call forwarding, and Caller ID.

Phone service providers in the Missouri area like AT&T and EMBARQ provide many different options for phone service, with extra features like voicemail, Caller ID, and long distance that work for both homes and businesses.
