DirecTV $44

Satellite television is a great alternative to cable television, offering a variety of channels at competitive rates. Like cable television, satellite offers hundreds of channels, with extra features like high definition and DVR to record shows. Customers can also take advantage of on demand and pay-per-view to add extra options to the viewing experience. Satellite, unlike cable, relies on a dish to relay the thousands of channels straight into your living room. However, this also means that the initial equipment and cost can be a little more than cable, which simply requires a box hook-up.

Satellite providers in Minnesota include the main national companies like Dish Network and DirecTV. Prices hover on a monthly rate and different packages can tailor the number and type of channels to your individual viewing interests and style, whether you want more sports channels or greater movie selections.

There are only a few benefits to cable over satellite. Mainly that is that you won't lose your signal in heavy weather. After that Directv and Dish have either similiar or superior programming at what is usually a lower price. Of course if you have the benefit of competition between providers in your area then you can get much better deals than the rest of us.
