You are enjoying a quiet evening at home when an important call comes into your cell phone, maybe from your grandmother or the employer you recently interviewed with. Right after you answer, the call drops. It's frustrating, and many people experience it with cellular phones every day. Even though cellular phones have cut into the market of traditional phones, land line phones still offer appealing features for families and businesses. The connection is sometimes more reliable than cell phones, and one does not have to worry about going out of range or losing a signal. Land line phones are popular for households with families because they connect everyone together under a single phone line. Plus, it allows vendors and businesses to contact them throughout the day without directly interrupting them on a cell phone.

Phone services in Maine offer a range of options, from Caller ID and voicemail to long distance calling. One can find great deals on phone services, especially if they couple it with Internet, cellular, or TV.

No, they are not. If your power or cable goes out, likely the phone goes out too. Traditional phones also carry thier own power and are generally very dependable.

Is it better to have traditional phone service or a cell phone for your only phone? Post by anonymous in , Post Your Reply

This is a great question and with each person the answer will change. My personal opinion is home phones are a waste of time since the only time you can answer it is when you are home. Cell phones you can use anywhere and if you have a good data plan you will not worry about minutes. The only plus I could see from a landline is using it as a number to give to people that you do not want to give your cell number out to. If this is not an issue to you then there really is no point in spending an extra $25 a month.

Can you do work-at-home customer service jobs with your cell phone or must you have home phone service? Post by in , Post Your Reply

You will need a landline phone to work as a customer service representative at home. Most companies will require you to have this in order to apply with their company but some of them will reimburse you for the charges. You can find good deals with AT&T.
