Voice over Internet Protocol, or VOIP, is an increasingly popular telecommunications service for homes and businesses in Indiana. VOIP allows all communication to take place over a single network, like the Internet; voice and data communication are accomplished over an IP network, where a broadband connection simultaneously allows multiple phone calls and the transfer of data. Setting up a VOIP system can help to decrease the monthly costs of multiple communications systems. This allows a more effective and flexible latitude for audio conferencing and general exchange of information.

Providers in Indiana include companies like Vonage, which offers many services for individuals and businesses, including traditional phone features like voicemail, Caller ID, call waiting, and much more. Other options include TinCanTalk and Lingo; all providers charge under $30 a month and allow Indiana residents greater choices in phone services and communications in both the home and at work.
