While land line telephones are slowly giving way to personal cell phones, they still serve a need in the household and workplace. Phone service is great for businesses who connect multiple lines to a central system and use voicemail and call forwarding systems. Many families may also want a central phone line in the home that everyone can share. Land line telephones provide a means of communication that does not disrupt daily life away from the home, so businesses and vendors can reach you, but not interrupt you in the middle of the work day. Plus, it can provide a less expensive phone for those who do not wish to purchase a cellular phone plan.
Phone service providers in Idaho include Verizon, Qwest, and CenturyTel, the least expensive who offers packages for both individuals and businesses with a variety of options, like long distance calling, Caller ID, call waiting, and voicemail. No matter the phone service need, Idaho phone companies can tailor a service to an individual's requests.

No, they are not. If your power or cable goes out, likely the phone goes out too. Traditional phones also carry thier own power and are generally very dependable.
This is a great question and with each person the answer will change. My personal opinion is home phones are a waste of time since the only time you can answer it is when you are home. Cell phones you can use anywhere and if you have a good data plan you will not worry about minutes. The only plus I could see from a landline is using it as a number to give to people that you do not want to give your cell number out to. If this is not an issue to you then there really is no point in spending an extra $25 a month.
You will need a landline phone to work as a customer service representative at home. Most companies will require you to have this in order to apply with their company but some of them will reimburse you for the charges. You can find good deals with AT&T.
