While land line telephones are increasingly replaced by personal cellular phones, they still hold a place in the household and workplace. Phone service is great for businesses who coordinate voicemail and call forwarding systems with various lines. It is also a preference of many families who want a central phone line in the home that everyone can share. Land line telephones provide a means of communication that does not interrupt daily life away from the home, so businesses and vendors can not reach you in the middle of the workday. Plus, it provides a less expensive means of communication for those who do not wish to purchase a cellular phone plan.

Phone service providers in Alaska include AT&T, who offers packages for both individuals and businesses with a variety of options, like long distance calling, Caller ID, call waiting, and voicemail. No matter the phone service need, Alaskan phone companies can tailor a service to an individual's requests.
