I've had my cellular service through AT&T (formerly Cingular) since I've had a cell phone. They've been great.
"I recently switched my cellular service to Verizon, and it's worked out really well. I'm glad there isn't a horde of people following me around, though"
Unless you must have the Iphone, Verizon Wireless is by far the best service provider. They have the best coverage area and the fewest drops.
The primary requirement for a network to succeed as a cellular network is for it to have developed a standardised method for each distributed station to distinguish the signal emanating from its own transmitter from the signals received from other transmitters.
One solution method is frequency division multiple access. FDMA works by using varying frequencies for each neighbouring cell. By tuning to the frequency of a chosen cell the distributed stations can avoid the signal from other cells.
