Education Websites – is a listing of interactive math sites, categorized by number sense and operations; data analysis and probability; patterns, algebra and functions; geometry and measurement; and, structure and logic. Excellent set of resources for teaching adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, telling time, counting money, and algebraic processes.
National Library of Virtual Manipulatives – from the University of Utah, a site offering various manipulatives such as base 10 blocks, charts, grids, graph paper, tiles, pattern blocks, and much more to aid in teaching operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data probability and ratio.
Apples for the Teacher – is an elementary educational site offering geometry, time and money calculation, measurement, operations, and interactive 100 charts.
AAA Math – offers an immense amount of math activities from kindergarten through 12th grade. Categorized at the top are the grade levels and to the left are specific math topics.
The Math Forum – is the Ask Dr. Math site that allows kids to ask for help with homework or lessons and includes an archive of previously asked and answered items. Help available goes beyond college level. A separate area is available to educators on teaching math, and Drexel University offers online math courses.
Kidzone Create-a-Graph – offers a tutorial on graphs, several types to make, interactive games that teach complex math skills, quizzes and grade comparison to other students around the world.
Enchanted Mind Brainbenders – a fantastic site for critical thinking skills, creativity, IQ tests, and so much more in a fun environment of puzzles.
Explore Math – is a member site for teachers and students. Their product line of “Gizmos” offers computer simulations in all math topics for grades 3-12. Support for teachers is always available and many helpful articles, how-to’s, and videos can be found on every subject.
King’s Math – an extensive listing of interactive math lessons, games, and activities, categorized by subject and skill. Additional resources include parent sites, teacher help, and math vocabulary.
The Geometry Center – offers students 6th -12th grades interactive games and puzzles to explore shapes, patterns, symmetry, and has an online studio for creations, an observatory for demonstrations, and a library for resources in geometry.
Math Calculators – a free site for online calculators in geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and trigonometry. Additional resources include free printable graph paper, worksheets, and self-help tutorials.
Quia – is a member-based site offering teachers to connect with other teachers around the globe, all you need is a high speed internet connection. Create your own online content, interactive resources, and share with other members. Teachers can create content in accordance with their own math curriculum and allow access to students without registration.
Webmath – an innovative site with answers to math problems from various curriculum texts. Subjects include general math, K-8 math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Other resources include puzzle makers, lesson plans, and contests and grant programs.
Dositey – is a member site, but offers many free activities, categorized by grade level, and grouped under math subjects.
FunBrain – is the game site of all sites for interactive learning of all subjects. Their math games include place values, counting, facts, operations, measurement, probability, shapes, fractions, and much more.
Primary Games – excellent site for elementary students to learn every aspect of math with games, and each activity is listed by name on a score card with appropriate grade levels.
Math Doodles – an award-winning set of math games with foundational principles. Demo versions are available and the author, Daren Carstens, continues to create new interactive math games.
Cool Math 4 Kids – a virtual amusement park of fun and educational math games for pre-algebra levels and up.
Math Playground – excellent resources for elementary and middle school children offering skills practice, logic puzzles, computation, manipulatives, printable worksheets and flash cards, and much more. Especially interesting is the introduction to computer modeling through a software game using geometric shapes.
A+ Math – a math game site offering both Java and non-Java platform versions of classics like bingo, concentration, matching, and other action video games, such as Timez Attack, teaching multiplication facts. A video tour of the site covers age levels and game details.
Magnet – this engaging website offers interactive games, puzzles, and an awesome virtual tour of the Matrix museum where kids explore numerous math and science related exhibits.
I Know That – is a colorful site for students with associated teacher guides for use in the classroom. Activities can be found by grade level at the top or by subject on the left.
ICT Games – a teacher-written site geared to preschool and elementary students and is a great resource for parents of elementary students. Games include counting, number recognition and other foundational math skills, but multiplication tables, addition and subtraction facts, and place value is also reviewed in the interactive games requiring Flash Player.
Mathwire – a teacher oriented site with teaching tips, strategies and associated online games and printable worksheets for teaching math principles based on NCTM standards.
