Despite a faithful core of weekly viewers, CBS moved the show to several different time slots which made it difficult to attract and retain a large audience. The show lasted 4 years and a total of 90 episodes were filmed. However, some of the episodes are vintage ‘KRP, including Hoodlum Rock, God Talks to Johnny and Who is Gordon Sims? But, in most people’s opinion, the best episode is the Thanksgiving classic Turkeys Away, where Mr. Carlson wants to be more involved with the station and creates a promotion where they give away turkeys – by dropping them out of a helicopter. With newsman Les Nessman reporting the happenings from a storefront location, ala War of World reporting, the results were hysterical. With the best line of all from Mr. Carlson “As god is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.” One of the best all time TV episodes!
