Many office buildings are turning to VoIP phone systems. It's a great solution for companies looking to get one step ahead of the next wave of technology. But there's one important question that needs to be addressed: How expensive is a VoIP Phone System?
That answer varies depending on the size of the company and the amount of equipment that will be needed for the VoIP setup. Every company is different, so the price for a VoIP phone system will be different, but there are some things that are common that will affect the bottom line.
There are several components necessary for a VoIP phone system to operate: an IP enabled PBX, similar to the PBX routing calls in an analog system, VoIP phones and some sort of data network. Any or all of these things may need to be added to an existing phone system to create a VoIP phone system.
It's possible that your company may just need to update the PBX, which can then be used by your current computer network to route the voice calls. You may also only need to upgrade the handsets in the office, or you may need a new data network. It's possible that with an older company, your phone system may need to just be gutted and replaced with a new one.
Most VoIP phone systems will be a little more expensive than a typical analog system. A VoIP phone system can run anywhere between $10,000-$50,000 depending on the size of your company and the necessary components. A smaller company could probably get by with a $10,000 or $20,000 system because they would require less equipment than a larger company, who can spend upwards of $50,000 on their upgraded VoIP phone system.
Of course, even if your small company needs a complete overhaul, it could end up being a lot more expensive. But know that you get what you pay for, and your VoIP phone system will be state of the art and take you into the foreseeable future.
